Bureau of Immigration Extends Departure Deadline for Certain September 2026 Orders
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has announced a limited extension for foreign nationals covered by specified Orders of the Board of Commissioners issued on 1 September 2026. The advisory covers Visa Cancellation Order Nos. BOC-2026-282 to BOC-2026-295, OTL BOC-2026-65 to OTL BOC-2026-78, and BLO BOC-2026-1389 to BLO BOC-2026-1402. Persons subject to those orders, who had been directed to leave the Philippines on or before 30 September 2026, have been given until 30 November 2026 to comply.
The extension concerns only the period for departure. According to the BI, it does not suspend, reverse, or otherwise affect the validity and effectivity of the underlying visa cancellation, order-to-leave, or blacklist order. Affected foreign nationals should therefore avoid treating the advisory as a restoration of immigration status or as permission to disregard the operative terms of the relevant order.
The practical first step is to identify the exact docket number stated in the order served on the foreign national and confirm that it falls within the ranges listed in the BI advisory. The person should also review whether any other immigration matter, pending proceeding, or travel restriction could affect departure. Airline arrangements and documentary requirements should be addressed well before the deadline because the advisory does not promise a further extension.
The BI expressly warns that failure to depart by 30 November 2026 will constitute non-compliance and may lead to the commencement of deportation proceedings. Non-compliance can create additional legal and practical consequences, including complications in future Philippine visa applications. Where the foreign national disputes the order or believes another remedy is available, legal advice should be obtained promptly rather than waiting until the final days of the extended period.
